Watchung Cooperative Preschool

Sometimes, the most meaningful art isn’t framed behind glass or hung beneath perfect lighting. Sometimes, it starts with a large sheet of paper, a puddle of glue, and a group of small hands trying to figure out how the world sticks together.

In More Glue, Please!!, the children were the curators of their own curiosity. They painted and printed, dabbed and smeared, experimenting with tools and textures. They chose bits and pieces from their surroundings—loose parts tucked into corners, found things with no real name—and figured out how to make them stay.

There was trial and error—a feather was too light, a button too heavy. Some made oceans of glue, others careful dabs. Then came a final layer—glue mixed with watercolor—an accidental alchemy that added depth and a quiet shimmer to the whole thing.

No one told them when they were finished. That was up to them. Some stopped early. Some didn’t want to stop at all. That’s the part we tend to forget as we get older—that knowing when something feels done is an act of trust.

This show isn’t just about glue. It’s about collaboration, decision-making, and small choices that lead to something larger. It’s about the freedom to make a mess and the courage to call it art.

Come see what happens when children are given time, space, and yes, plenty of glue.
