Tiny Gallery @Newark’s Arts Festival
Tiny Gallery believes small things hold extraordinary power. By tucking miniature art galleries onto lawns, in parks, and at schools throughout Northern New Jersey, Tiny Gallery turns everyday places into joyful public art spaces.
This fall, Tiny Gallery is collaborating with Project for Empty Space to feature small works from Newark artists in the Newark Arts Festival.
Tiny Gallery participated in Newark Grounds Night Fest and has exhibited at ART FAIR 14C, MAM Uncorked, Garden State Weekend, and more. There are currently 12 Tiny Galleries showcasing over 85 emerging and established artists in Montclair, Bloomfield, and Glen Ridge.
Tiny Gallery Call for Art for Newark Arts Festival
Tiny Gallery is soliciting small works to feature in up to four galleries during the Newark Arts Festival, from October 8th to 12th. For reference, each gallery is 16” H x 22” W x 18” D.
Requirements:
Work must be under four inches.
Work can be in any medium, and video requests can be discussed.
Work should respond to the prompt: What brings you joy?
To apply:
Share an example of your work and a description of what your small execution would be.
Timeline:
Deadline to apply: 9/12 (we can accommodate late entries)
Deadline for final work: Monday, 9/22
Work can be dropped off at PES Monday through Friday, 10 am–6 pm.
Artists may submit more than one work, but due to space and time, not all works may be included in the exhibit.
Please note: Tiny Gallery does not exhibit miniatures, which we define as detailed, small-scale replicas of life-size items. Instead, we invite artists to explore original small-scale work intended to create a uniquely intimate experience for the viewer.
